Course Description

The ACLS provider course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of Peri-arrest, cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. Through didactic instruction and active participation in simulated cases, students will enhance their skills in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary arrest, acute arrhythmias, and coronary syndromes (ACS).

After successful completion of this course, candidates will be able to apply important concepts, including

  • The Basic Life Support (BLS) Sequences
  • The ACLS Survey
  • The ACLS Algorithms
  • Effective resuscitation team dynamics
  • Immediate post-cardiac arrest care.

The goal of the ACLS course is to improve the quality of care provided to the adult victim of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies.

Target Audience:

This course is designed for healthcare professionals such as Physicians, Nurses, Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians, Respiratory Therapists,  Medical/Nursing students,  and other allied health personnel who work in high dependency areas, intermediate care units and are part of the Code Blue Team.

Course Prerequisites

It is mandatory for all ACLS participants to have

  • Valid BLS Certification.
  • Should have studied the course manual.
  • Knowledge of ECG rhythm interpretation of the core ACLS rhythms.
  • Basic Knowledge of airway management
  • Basic ACLS drug and pharmacology knowledge
  • Effective resuscitation team concepts
