Nursing Exhibition for World Kidney Day & International Women’s Day

Hospitals and Teaching Institutions are intertwined and interconnected. Any activity in the hospital will have an impact on the school and college that is affiliated.

The staff and students of Dr.Jeyasekharan Medical Trust had the Privilege of Celebrating World Kidney Day and International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2012 by having an inspiring exhibition for the first time on these themes: “Protect Your Kidney and Save Your Life” and “Empowering Young Women for a Better Future”. The Exhibition was inaugurated by the most senior nurses Sister Anselina and Sister Roselet.

Approximately 120 students from the Nursing School and Staff of Dr.N.D. Jeyasekharan Hospital & Nursing Home, Xaviers College of Nursing, Dassiah College of Nursing, Bethel School of Nursing, Cross Institute of Nursing, White Memorial College of Nursing and School of Nursing Catherine Booth Hospital participated .

The welcome and introductory speech was given by our Managing Trustee Dr. Devaprasath Jeyasekharan and Staff Nurse Ruba Benisha gave an inspiring talk about International Women’s Day.

There were 24 participants for the poster competition and the following prizes were awarded to the best poster entries.

1st – Ms. Suganya – School of Nursing Catherine Booth Hospital

2nd – Ms. Vijaya Rani – School of Nursing Catherine Booth Hospital

3rd – Ms. Leomin Amala –St Xavier’s Catholie Christian College of Nursing

An Essay competition was conducted with 33 participants actively taking part

Power point presentations were projected while models pictures, live setups, specimens and books were also displayed.
